"Positive Walk-in Clinic Experience"

About: Medicine Place - 118 Avenue

(as a parent/guardian),

My 11 year old daughter was unwell for over a week with an unrelenting fever and cough. When she woke up at 5 am one morning with difficulty breathing I knew this was not just a virus. She was not in distress so I knew it was not urgent. I called her Pediatrician at 9 am when their clinic opened. I was told he and his booking clerk were not working that day and that there were no other physicians in the clinic that day. I went to the nearest walk in clinic and was greeted by friendly reception staff who took our information and my daughter’s vitals. We were seated in a clean clinic room immediately. The family physician was in to see us within 5 minutes. He examined her and listened to us, gave us X-ray and lab requisitions, and prescriptions. He also gave us advice on where to go for the tests and what to do for follow up plans. I was so relieved to have received efficient and excellent care from a walk-in primary care clinic. I have no hesitation going back or referring others to this clinic due to my very positive experiences.
