"Gallbladder Cancer or Inflammation"

About: Rockyview General Hospital / Surgical

(as the patient),

After spending a week in the Rockyview Hospital waiting to get a MRI scan. In June 2024 the surgeon came into my room at his regular 6 a.m. and said I wont be removing your gallbladder as we think you have cancer. This did not feel like a great bedside manner.

I know that they had problems getting a biopsy but it still took till August to find out that it was an inflamed gallbladder and the spot on my liver was just fibrosis.

Never even saw the Hepatologist till the day of gallbladder removal. I understand he is a very busy guy but a bit more contact would have been a lot less stressful.

The MRI report left me thinking I had gallbladder cancer that might be metastasized to my liver.

Hello whispermh39,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of care with us during what must have been a difficult time, both in and out of hospital. Your voice is important, and your willingness to share helps others feel empowered to do the same.

Currently, the provider is not a member of Care Opinion, but we will make an effort to contact them. We want you to know that your feedback still makes a difference. Many people will read your story and find comfort, validation, or encouragement in speaking up about their own experiences.

Your story matters, and we are grateful to you for sharing it.

Best wishes,
The Care Opinion Moderation Team
