"Horrible Experience at the Bone and Joint Edmonton"

About: Edmonton Bone and Joint Center

(as the patient),

In May 2024 I had an appointment with  a doctor at the Bone and Joint Clinic to assess my foot for potential surgery. Multiple X-ray of my foot showed that I had deformity on at least 2 joints on my right foot. I have been experiencing excruciating pain since 2022.

I was assessed by the physiotherapist on my foot. Not once did he asked me to walk. When the doctor walked in he was holding a copy of the X-ray report and my family doctor's referral letter in his hand. I felt he was  irritated and started to tell me that there is nothing wrong with my foot. I implored him to read the previous X-ray report which the radiologist detailed the deformity. He reiterated there was nothing wrong with my foot.

He sent a letter repeating the same thing to my family doctor. I was so confused. My family doctor asked for a second opinion. The bone and joint clinic doctor sent me a requisition for a bone scan to rule out a fracture! This is a chronic pain!

Four months later, I finally saw a different doctor who referred me to see an orthopedic surgeon.

In March 2025, I saw an orthopedic surgeon who told me my right foot completely collapsed and he was surprised I could walk on it.

I think bone and joint doctor's behaviour was extremely unacceptable. His attitude and behaviour made me feel frustrated and angry because I went to seek relief for my foot pain and did not get relief.
