"Thank you Okotoks Urgent Care & Rockyview Hospital"

About: Okotoks Health & Wellness Rockyview General Hospital / Emergency

(as the patient),

In the weeks following a positive pregnancy test I began bleeding, I had experienced a miscarriage previously so with it being after walk in clinic hours on a weekend we made our way to Okotoks Urgent Care.

Upon arrival I was in no pain and was triaged as normal, while waiting my pain intensified and within 30 minutes I could no longer sit in a chair to which I was moved to a room, within 45 minutes I was practically screaming in pain. When I voiced to the nurses and doctor that something felt very wrong they listened and quickly. They told me they consulted with Rockyview ER as they suspected I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I felt the nurses moved quickly to get pain meds and fluids on board while I awaited an ambulance to transfer me to Rockyview.

Upon arrival at Rockyview it was confirmed that I did in fact have a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Aside from one lapse of pain meds (I likely didn’t speak up soon enough to ask for more) the nurses and doctors did a wonderful job keeping me pain free until my surgery in the morning. Thanks to the careful care of my surgeons I was able to go home just after dinner and have been doing better every day since.

Thank you to the staff at Okotoks Urgent Care and Rockyview Hospital for taking care of me.
