"Breastfeeding Journey"

About: Circle Medical @ Copperfield

(as the patient),

I am a mom of four kids and for my first three I was told at around 8 weeks, every time, I didn’t produce enough milk for my babies. I remember each time and I remember getting more and more desperate to have a successful story, I tried everything to the point where I was powerless pumping multiple times a day and no longer sleeping. When I found out I was pregnant I immediately thought, I accept it will only be short journey this time. My family doctor put in a referral after my baby was born and told me if I was to have a successful journey this would be my best chance. I remember the first day at the clinic. It was so nice and clean and inviting, then I was given paperwork on the clipboard but the extremely helpful, kind and welcoming secretary with a paper to fill out before my appointment. I remember filling out the paperwork and one of the questions asked how long I wanted to breastfeed for and I stared at it for a long time before I answered, did I dare say my real goal the one I wanted deep down or should I not be so greedy and say a reasonable goal of 3 months or so. I answered the one I had dreamed of since I found out I was pregnant with my first, 7 months. It seemed so impossible, that will never happen I thought but might as well wish, I had already gotten my hopes up and knew when I had to inevitably quit I would be just devastated. Again. I had my first appointment, I told my doctor of my history and story of my devastations and broken dreams. She gave me some medication and made another appointment and we discussed my feeding schedule. Fast forward to my next appointment, it seemed I had an oversupply for once! But I thought to myself, that won’t last but it’s nice because when I dry up I’ll be able to switch her over to formula easier. I am almost at the 6 month mark and my baby is meeting all her growth requirements. I’ve actually considered if I could do a whole year, I have missed out in the past right? All thanks to Circle Medical at Copperfield! They changed my life and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to express how thankful and grateful I am for finally experiencing the journey I dreamed of for years, one that I never thought for a second was possible.
