"Frustrated With Chronic Care"

About: Circle Medical @ Copperfield

(as the patient),

I've been a patient at Circle Medical for about 20 years now, but lately I have been frustrated with the care here and am beginning to look for a change. For the average person who has occasional healthcare needs, this clinic is excellent -- but once my symptoms became chronic and my health began declining, so did the care I received here.

I am currently unable to work due to the symptoms I experience on a daily basis, and despite having chronic conditions that have been diagnosed by specialists, I leave every doctor's appointment feeling unheard, un-helped, sometimes gaslit, and hopeless in terms of my health and my future. I feel that my doctor does not seem to care that my symptoms are completely life-altering, and makes close to no effort to help me move towards improvement. Thankfully, I have been referred to a few specialists, but I felt that I had to push hard to advocate for myself to get that far.

I find myself in tears in my car after pretty much every appointment here. I would recommend this clinic to an average, healthy Canadian, but I would not recommend it to anyone struggling with chronic conditions.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and most importantly, we’re truly sorry to hear how let down and unsupported you’ve felt. Your feedback is incredibly important to us.

With a relationship that spans over 20 years, we want you to feel safe, heard, and comfortable speaking openly with your primary care provider. We are glad to hear that you were able to connect with several specialists, but we also recognize that this process should not have felt like a struggle.

We strongly encourage you to reach out to your provider to further discuss your concerns and ensure your voice is fully heard and understood.

We are committed to learning from your experience and will be sharing your feedback with our entire team to support improvements in how we care for patients with complex, chronic conditions.
