"Enjoyment Living at Bethany CollegeSide"

About: Bethany Collegeside

(as a parent/guardian),

My brother, who has been enjoying living at Bethany Collegeside for the past couple of years, fell which caused continuing health issues. Thankfully, the staff knew my brother well and felt he wasn't himself so advised he be sent to the hospital.  After a few days in hospital he returned to Bethany Collegeside with seizures, a brain bleed and a personality almost opposite to what everyone knew him as.  They were very patient with him and me, as his guardian.  They saw us through  months of changed behaviors, medication adjustments, mobility issues, etc. Everyone from Collegeside from the cleaning staff through to the Manager were aware of his condition and always willing to help and adjust what needed to be changed, always with a smile on their face.  They always kept me in the loop, or not - whatever my wishes were and provided lots of support for me as his guardian. They have been kind, extremely thoughtful and beyond helpful with him and me to assist us in this new reality.  I can't thank them enough and would highly recommend this facility to anyone.  It's never the big stuff ......it's the small things that seems to matter the most which Bethany Collegeside have provided every day.

Thank you for sharing your brother’s story so openly and for your kind recommendation. Sudden changes in health can be overwhelming, and it means a great deal to hear that our team was able to support both of you through that time. What you’ve described with the staff in various roles and disciplines responding with patience, adaptability, and genuine care is exactly the kind of coordinated approach we hope all residents and family experience.

Your reflection on the small things is such an important reminder. Those moments often show that someone is truly seen and known as an individual, the little gestures that say, “we notice you”. It’s encouraging to know they brought comfort and support to you and your brother. We’re grateful for your trust and for allowing us to be part of his care journey.
