"Possible MS Diagnosis"

About: Alberta Health

(as the patient),

Possibly have MS, needed mri, got one done 1 month later. There’s lesions but no definite diagnosis. Now I need a full spine mri and have to wait 10 months to get the test before I can be referred to neurosurgeon for a consult. I am numb from the chest down, can barely walk and have to sit suffering for a year just for imaging. Meanwhile my spinal condition is worsening and I may well be permanently paralyzed. I feel that the system is so broken and people are suffering!!!

Hello Unjustly Waiting,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on how wait times are impacting you. We know that health care journeys are deeply personal and your voice matters.

While no specific provider was mentioned. Your feedback still holds great value. Stories like yours contribute to a greater transparency in health care and help bring attention to areas that need improvement.

Though we can not change wait times, we thank you for being part of this important conversation.

Thank you 🙏 it would be nice if public and private could work together to work thru the backlog of people waiting up to a year simply for imaging….. this would reduce wait time, suffering and would lead to hopefully better patient outcomes!!!
