I suffered a fracture of my baby finger in the summer. The Emergency physician correctly identified the fracture and recommended buddy splinting for 2-4 weeks. The official Xray report however said there was no new or healing fracture noted. After splinting for many weeks, I still had pain in the finger and obvious protrusion of bone under the skin. I requested my physician order a repeat Xray. I obtained the Xray at the Canada Diagnostics Centre in Westhills which clearly showed the fracture. the radiologist, Dr. Ko, asked to see me and made sure I knew that the original interpretation was incorrect and that there was only slight healing and i should definitely return to splinting it. I was impressed he took the time to advise me on care and didnt just issue a report.
To a person, the Diagnostic Centre was a pleasure to deal with and prompt with their reporting I had a repeat X-ray today and the report was back before I made it back home.
It is a small medical problem but I sure appreciated the care and attention.
