At random points throughout the weekend, I felt light-headed and somewhat on the verge of fainting. I had to stop whatever I was doing, take a moment, then resume my activity after about 1 minute. I felt a light tension in my left jaw, followed in about 15 seconds with a fainting feeling. Blood sugars were fine so it wasn't lack of food/nutrients however suspected that blood pressure had quickly dropped. All tests conducted were to date by an ER visit late last autumn, blood tests, heart stress tests and recent 811 calls ruled out possible stroke or heart issues (including full CT on heart and valves). From all inputs, perhaps medications were over-compensating for high-blood pressure and triggering these moments. It's now a few days later since cutting out some meds, at my doctor's recommendation, and no further incidents have resulted.
My family doctor is a member of the Primary Care Network in Calgary which means if I can't get an appointment with her in 24 hours, an appointment is scheduled with another Doctor right away. Very pleased with all of the services received and attention given to possibilities from ER CT scans, blood work analyses, stress test and holter monitor, and family doctor follow-up. It may take time however the analyses and outcomes of the thoroughness of testing brings me a new peace-of-mind that currently, nothing proved to be of a serious concern.
