Recently I began having post menopausal blood loss. I was absolutely horrified as I have been in menopause for a very long time.
I called my doctor's office, Trucare Medical NW Calgary, to be seen asap, but since my doctor works only part time I could not get in to see her, nor could I use a walk in spot that they usually provide. They directed me Access 365 Calgary Foothills PCN via 811 Health Link.
811 was quickly available to assess my situation and they got me into Access 365 within the 24 hour window they use as a guideline.
You have to be triaged through 811 before you can be seen by Access 365. My referral to the Access 365 clinic was smooth and quick.
I was seen by NP Natasha and Ginger was the nurse on duty. Both were amazing, professional but what stood out to me was their real, genuine kindness. They listened to me. They took time to understand me.

Seeing the whole me

Being listened to
Within 24 hours I was booked for an ultrasound with EFW. Praise again for my tech Jacob who made my needs the priority. I have vertigo and he accommodated me without question.
Post ultrasound, I was referred for biopsy which is pending. The doctor who contacted me from the The IUD Women's Clinic was thorough, reassuring, and healthily concerned and expressed this to me clearly! I was scheduled for a biopsy and told of an option for nitrous oxide at an additional cost. I have never been offered, in the past, this luxury for this sort of procedure and I was absolutely delighted.
NP Natasha set everything in motion with these referrals and did make me aware. I felt taken care of.
I want to praise all those staff who have been apart of the beginning of this leg of my healthcare journey and ensure they receive kudos for a job well done.
