Recently, I went to the McLeod River PCN – Edson office over my concern about my blood pressure, as I do not have a regular family doctor, and I felt it wasn't being addressed at my walk-in clinic visits. I am not blaming the doctors or staff at the walk-in clinic for the situation of not having access to a family doctor. I feel this situation is provincial wide.
I worked for over a decade in health care and have spoken with many in the primary care sector. I realize the value of Primary Care Networks. They offer services from nutrition to medical testing (like blood pressure monitoring) to exercise. All to help improve people’s health.
Over the years I have accessed many programs like the on-line exercise program, when they had no in-person facility.
The staff at McLeod River PCN - Edson are wonderful, caring and knowledgeable staff. They seem to work as a team and talk to others if there's any uncertainty about an issue or concern, then provide the user with the information. I feel they are committed to helping people live a healthy lifestyle regardless of life situations.
