During a recent meeting, I suddenly became dizzy and everything began to spin, and the symptoms didn’t improve. I contacted Health Link. While the wait to get through was long, once I did, they were very helpful and informed me that someone from Access 365 would contact me shortly.
I was seen at the Foothills PCN Access 365 clinic that same evening. There was no wait at all—the front desk clerk took me straight in to see the physician. The doctor was very patient-centred and thorough. I received a comprehensive assessment, a referral for blood work, a doctor’s note for time off work and, most importantly, a list of symptoms to monitor and instructions on what to do about them.
I was extremely impressed by how efficient and well-coordinated this system was (aside from the initial wait to reach Health Link). I wish all patients could experience such a well-organized and effective model of care.
