"Reassured and Thankful for Local Primary Care Clinic"

About: Bashaw Medical Clinic

(as the patient),

I am a senior and fortunately my health has been quite good over the last year where my need for clinic visits have been few. It is a blessing to know that I can obtain clinical assistance and advice locally rather than having to travel a great distance. It is reassuring to have my concerns met by local care givers and knowing that my care is being monitored by physicians who are so accessible should I need their diagnostic skills.

Over the years there has been much discussion about team based care; recognizing how primary care can be delivered by utilizing the many skilled healthcare professionals. The implementation of these ideas about a division of duties in our community has resulted in responsive, accessible, quality care. I am so grateful to the physician practice that was willing to help implement and create this community owned clinic and for the talented care givers who practice within it, as well as to the volunteers who help support it. I should also like to acknowledge the provincial government who provided the dollars to implement this team based care philosophy and to our Bashaw and District Support Services for taking on the task of accounting for the dollars given.

Hello and thank-you for taking the time to share your story!

The family doctors, our multidisciplinary and locally-based clinic team and our partnership with Bashaw and District Support Services are all focused on providing accessible, responsive and high quality care. The Bashaw Medical Clinic has embraced team-based care and we are very happy to see the positive results of this work.

As you've also pointed out, the care being delivered by the Bashaw Medical Clinic is enabled through a dollar-for-dollar matching grant program via the Ministry of Primary and Preventative Health Services, with Bashaw and District Support Services acting as our grant holder. Our local Bashaw and District Health & Wellness Foundation and Bashaw and District Support Services are actively fundraising to match the grant dollars provided by the Ministry. If you should have any questions about making a donation, please reach out to these local organizations for more information.

Thank-you again for your kind words and feedback! Our team truly appreciates the opportunity to hear from our patients!

Take care,

Georgina
