"My Amazing Care at Foothills PCN"

About: Calgary Foothills PCN

(as the patient),

As a plus size woman I feel im often dismissed because of my size and in many instances I am. But never once have I ever felt this since joining the Foothills Primary Care Network. I feel like an important person who is valued and always treated with kindness, compassion and respect.

Everyone from Reception to Doctors, Nurses and Specialists take time to listen and help in every way possible.

Hello

Thank you very much for sharing your positive experiences with our staff and team of providers at our PCN. We acknowledge that there are many ways that people feel disrespected or experience discrimination when receiving care, and we are delighted to know that we provide a safe, respectful, and a compassionate place where you feel valued, and genuinely heard.

Listening is an art that requires intention and moving beyond hearing words to understanding the patient's lived experience, and it is so rewarding for our staff to know when they are doing something well and making a difference.

I will pass along your very kind words to the staff, management, and leadership. Thank you again for taking the time to share how our we have made a positive impact in your ongoing care at our PCN.

Warm regards,

Leanne Kiss
