It’s been quite a journey for me and my family but blessed everyday.
For over a decade, I’ve been raising my beautiful daughter with complex, special needs.
I’m always grateful that as her development started to unfold complexities, we were still able to be connected to the specialist’s she needed. Hand in hand with home therapists and special programming. Year after year.
To a point that several years ago I came to confront the hard realization that I some how had lost important parts of my person.
My physical, mental, and emotional state had deteriorated.
Living in such high stress and complex life, it all some how conditioned me to be last all the time.
I felt I had lost my identity.
In my struggle I reached out to a family doctor that in the end didn’t work out because it was so hard to get an appointment with them.
But last year I happened to find a new family dr that was able to immediately help me to start picking up some of those pieces
Their kindness, compassionate and interested in the well being of myself and my daughter.
They made such a great connection for me to the wellness clinic.
I’m now in a short program where I’ve received some counselling and help.
I haven’t been able to talk much about my personal life to anyone. I figured no one in my small circle of loved ones could ever possibly understand my difficulties, so I carried a lot for so long. I also received a high functioning ADHD diagnosis early this year that I’ve been able to find out more about.
Today my struggles in general are about the same, but just being able to talk to someone has lightened my spirits. I feel like I’m learning to breathe again and in an away perhaps get stronger to continue my daughters care giving.
I’m very grateful for this life line, I had no idea about it . It’s been really great.
