"Frustration When Trying to Access Online Health Records"

About: Government of Alberta - Health

(as a service user),

I made my father-in-law a MyAlberta Digital ID and a MyHealth Alberta account a handful of years ago. We had access to his health records, as we still have downloads off from the sites. We tried to login again and it says no account seemingly exists. It doesn’t appear to expire, according to the information, but the account is gone.

I re-registered him because we found it way too confusing moving from MyAlberta account to MyHealth, and now it apparently won’t let us into the records because the health card number exists on a file already. But this was precisely what we had tried to login to and it seemingly said no user exists.

I find this system is very challenging for me to navigate and I work with technology every day. I feel they have changed the system but not changed the names enough and the slight variations can be so confusing. Both these sites do not seem to have user friendly menus to understand where to go or where you are.
