"Quick Access to Care Meant I Felt Safe Visiting Sick Family"

About: Calgary Foothills PCN / Access 365 Health Link 811

(as the patient),

I broke out in a rash. I was particularly concerned because my brother has a serious medical condition and I was visiting him in the hospital. I phoned 811 and ultimately wound up at Access 365 Clinic in the University District. Because my brother’s condition is quite serious I needed a diagnosis quickly; I needed to know if I had something contagious that I could give to my brother. It turned out to be a minor matter from my point of view, and was resolved very quickly and efficiently. I am now able to visit my brother again. The whole experience was an eye-opener for me- my problem was dealt with kindly, efficiently, and quickly. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.

Hello

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with the coordination of care between Health Link 811 and our Primary Care Network Access 365 Clinic.

We are so pleased that we were able to provide a timely appointment for you to get your rash checked and confirmation that it was a minor matter that did not impact you being able to visit your brother in the hospital.

To know that your experience was based on efficient, kind, and timely care, is so fulfilling to our staff, and is the reason that our Access 365 clinic exists and continues to collaborate with partners in the health system.

I will pass along your kind words to the Access 365 program manager, medical physician lead, and staff, and I know they will be very pleased to know how supportive and timely the care was, so that you could continue to support your brother.

Warmest Regards,

Leanne Kiss
