"Amazing RN at Immunization Appointment"

About: South Calgary Health Centre / Community Health Centre

(as the patient),

Recently at South Calgary Health Centre in Calgary, AB, myself, my husband and my child went to get our COVID and flu vaccines. My child was nervous but was acting normal at first while my husband got his vaccines. Once it was their turn, they became extremely anxious and had basically a panic attack, screaming, hitting, kicking, and so upset. I ended up getting my vaccines then while they calmed down and then was able to speak to the nurse and calm their body down to get the vaccines.

The nurse's name was Ivy, she was an RN and I just want her to know that we appreciate her patience so much. I'm sure it was also overwhelming for her to see our child so upset and having to help us with that situation. She was so calm, helpful and kind and we are so happy we had her to do our vaccines. We think the next time our child has to get vaccines; they will be much calmer now knowing that it doesn't hurt as much as they thought it would and that the needle isn't as big as she thought.

Thank you to Ivy for your care.
