In November, a family member required a procedure and short stay in the recovery room (Foothills Medical Centre - McCaig Tower). During the recovery period prior to discharge, we (the family) noticed that an equipment/supply trolley situated about 10 feet from us was precariously close to falling over, as a foot brace/screw appeared to have become dislodged. We reported this potential safety issue through a family member to the head nurse. The response to address the issue was very rapid - and within half an hour, maintenance was onsite with a temporary repair until the unit could be permanently repaired - thus avoiding a potentially hazardous situation, likely for staff working in the area (a non-patient flow area). It was an obvious conscientious and congenial interaction and response. Kudos to the team for their attention to safety for all!! A gold star!!
