I am happy to share my story.
I am complex, chronic illness patient who deals with CPTSD due to my medical journeys. I was assigned to Stacey at the PCN Wellness Center in Chaparral.
Since being diagnosed a "sick kid" back in my early days, there were skillsets from a mental health aspect missing from my journey. Thanks to several months work with Stacey, I have learned some game-changing techniques to help me cope with the rough pain days, as pain is an unavoidable, daily companion, of mine, in varying degrees.
Having been recently diagnosed with skin cancer to top it all off, the timing couldn't have been more perfect for these skills . Several biopsies and surgeries later, the way I was able to be, with this journey, was different (and so much better) than ever before.
I'm not afraid to invite my pain in now. I know how to be with it and know how to take care of it even better than before.
I encourage anyone who may be feeling frustrated with their journey to let a professional in for mental health help. So many new tools out there and the wealth of help is being added to all the time.
I cannot thank Stacey enough. See your GP for a referral to a professional through PCN. You won't regret it.
