(as a parent/guardian),

I have to book through the 811 system for kids under 12 and I feel I have been kicked off the phone hold system multiple times. Shouldn't I be able to stay on hold. It seems ridiculous that I have to continually jump through hoops to get my children immunized for flu and covid.

I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I understand wanting to schedule your children for their flu and COVID vaccines as soon as possible – especially on day one - and apologize that the booking process was more difficult than anticipated.

While we expected increased call volumes this fall and took several steps to prepare, including hiring additional staff and bringing in all available teams to support the booking process, our call volumes on the first day exceeded our increased capacity.

Our team works diligently to answer calls as promptly as possible, but during exceptionally busy periods like yesterday, our phone lines can reach maximum capacity. When this occurs, additional callers may not be able to enter the queue or be given the option to wait on hold. I recognize this is frustrating and sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We were pleased to see call volumes dropped significantly after the first day, so callers are no longer facing this wait.
